PRICE - Cecil Lasalle McKendrick, age 71, passed away March 2, 2012, with his family at his side after a lengthy illness.
He was born Dec. 27, 1940 in Price to Charles Sherman and Delpha Davis McKendrick.
At an early age Cecil enlisted in the U.S. Navy and shortly thereafter married Bette Erkkila on November 24, 1959 in Elko, Nev.
Cecil was an accomplished mechanic who loved working with his hands. For years he shared his talents while working for General Electric, Eckhoff Engineering, and later as a plant manager for Long Airdox. His hobbies included working on automobiles, caring for horses, going on rides and hunting with his family. Cecil treasured the memories that he shared with his grandchildren and great-grandchildren and he will always be remembered for his generosity.
Survived by his sweetheart, Bette McKendrick, Price; three daughters and one son, Patti (Bob) Peterson, Price; Mike (Gladys) McKendrick, Tooele; Mary (Scott) Thayn, Price; Lisa McKendrick, Price; two brothers and five sisters, Roy (Twila) McKendrick, Clearfield; Bonnie Milkovich, Price; Maxine (Robert) Pitts, Carbonville; Norman McKendrick, Price; Billine (Raymond) Jones, Carbonville; Dixie (Tim) Warren, Richfield; RaeDell (David) Waller, Price; 13 grandchildren and nine great-grandchildren.
Cecil was preceded in death by his parents, granddaughter, Jade Villalobos, great-granddaughters, Melissa and Veronica; and sisters, Barbara McKendrick, Maurine Spangler and Debbie Sacco.
Funeral service, Wednesday, March 7, 2012, 11 a.m., Mitchell Funeral Home. Family will be at Mitchell's (233 E. Main Street) in Price Tuesday evening from 6 - 7 p.m. and Wednesday one hour prior to service. Interment, Scofield Cemetery.
