PRICE - Our beloved father and brother, Alfonso Emilio Sandoval, age 83, passed away Feb. 20, 2012 in Price.
He was born Sept. 21, 1928 in Del Norte, Colo., to Charlie and Anita Santistevan Sandoval.
Married Hazel Tremaine, later divorced. Married Aurora Pinon, she preceded him in death.
Sandy honorably served his country in the United States Air Force with 20 years of dedicated service. While in Lompoc, Calif., Sandy worked as a meat cutter at the commissary at Vandenberg Air Force Base. In 1989, Sandy returned to Price where he enjoyed fishing and bowling with his family and friends. His hobbies included working on crossword puzzles, playing his poker machine and traveling. Sandy enjoyed traveling and his children and grandchildren always looked forward to his visits.
Survived by his children, Daniel (Dodie) Sandoval, Bend, Ore.; Larry Sandoval, Odessa, Texas; Uilanie Sandoval, Keaau, Hawaii; Sandra Bishop, Santa Maria, Calif; four sisters and three brothers, Lucy Walker, Elko, Nev; Virgil (Delores) Sandoval, Price; Arthur (Ann) Sandoval, Price; Jose F. Sandoval, South Fork, Colo; Ester Franco, Elko, Nev; Grace Duenas, Los Angeles, Calif; Marcy (Dick) Hickman, Citrus Heights, Calif; 10 grandchildren and 12 great-grandchildren.
Preceded in death by his parents, son, Anthony Emilio Sandoval; and brother, Ray Sandoval.
Funeral service were held on Saturday, Feb. 25, 2012, at Mitchell Funeral Home (233 E. Main Street) in Price. Interment took place at Cliffview Cemetery, with military honors accorded by the Price and Helper American Legions.
