On Tuesday most elementary school classes were trading valentines, decorating cookies and playing games. However, Mrs Madrid and Holzer's 5th grade class at Castle Heights took the time to work on a service project instead. The class spent the afternoon working on quilts to donate to the Children's Justice Center and Women's Shelter in the area. Class parents and Wal-Mart donated the materials for the quilts. It wasn't all work, though. After the quilts were finished the students took a few minutes to exchange cards and enjoy a treat.
