HELPER - Timothy Ray Birch, age 75, returned home to his Heavenly Father peacefully on Jan. 24, 2012.
Tim was born Dec. 10, 1936 to James Henry Birch and Lillian Elizabeth Rees.
He married Carolyn Christensen on Nov. 14, 1964 in Helper.
Tim worked at Prichard Transfer and then for Plateau Mining where he retired with 25 years of service. He was proud to be a truck driver and heavy equipment operator. He enjoyed drinking coffee and shooting the bull with his family and friends at Swifts. Tim especially enjoyed spending time with his long awaited grandsons and he was affectionately known as "Uncle Tim" to all the neighborhood children. He loved his animals, Little Man, Tutu, and Teddy. He will be dearly missed by all that knew and loved him.
Survived by his loving wife, Carolyn Birch, Helper; sons, Scott (Michelle) Birch, Cleveland;, Kirk Ray Birch, Helper; two grandsons, Dalton and Derrick Birch; brother, Jack Birch, Price; many loving nieces, nephews and a community of friends.
Preceded in death by his parents, James and Lillian Birch; brothers, Verl, David, DelRoy and Robert Birch; sister, Annie Blackburn; loving father and mother-in-law, John and Flo Christensen.
Funeral service, Saturday, Jan. 28, 2012, 11 a.m. Helper LDS Stake Center. Family will receive friends Friday evening from 6 - 8 p.m. at Mitchell Funeral Home in Price and from 10-10:45 a.m. at the church in Helper. Interment, Mt. View Cemetery, Helper.
