Public Notice Request for Comments USDA Forest Service Manti-La Sal National Forest Monticello Ranger District

 The Manti-La Sal National Forest, Monticello Ranger District proposes
to approve the following water developments in association with two
private inholdings located in Sections 26 and 27, T34S, R21E, SLB&M:
 An existing ditch approximately 1100 feet long by 10 feet wide with
diversion located in Allen Canyon. The ditch was constructed sometime
in the early 1900's but has never been officially authorized. The
current owner, West Mountain Irrigation Company, maintains it by hand.
 Water right number is 09-29.

 	Proposed above-ground 6" black polyethylene pipe to transfer water
from the existing upper irrigation system on private land to the lower
pipeline system. Construction will take approximately one week
utilizing only human labor. No vehicles will need to access the
right-of-way and no mature trees are expected to be removed. A
contracted archaeologist surveyed the area in 2010 and found no sites.

 	It is anticipated that a Categorical Exclusion under 36 CFR
220.6(e)(3) will authorize the issuance of these permits. If you need
further information you may contact Joel Nowak at the Monticello
Ranger District, telephone (435) 636-3364. For location maps, go to
