Helper mayor arrested for DUI

By JOHN SERFUSTINI
Sun Advocate associate editor

Helper Mayor Dean Armstrong was arrested in Price Wednesday afternoon and booked at Carbon County Jail for driving under the influence of alcohol.

Utah Highway Patrol Lt. David Bennion said the arrest resulted from a routine traffic stop at 1:20 p.m. when a trooper pulled Armstrong over for making a "California stop" at the corner of Main Street and 100 West.

Armstrong told the Sun Advocate Friday that he regretted what he called "a serious error in judgment," and that he intends to continue his responsibilities as mayor.
