It's hard to know if Brooke Pia is contemplating what she is going to do with that big pumpkin she is leaning on or if she is thinking about what she is going to be on Halloween, but the spooky day is coming up fast.
Two of the biggest Halloween events of the year are coming up in the next week so little and big ghosts and witches need to pay heed.
First there is the Harvest Ball which is a benefit costume dance for the Children's Justice Center. That event will take place on Oct. 29 at the Elks Lodge on 100 North and Carbon Avenue.
The other event is the Halloween Spooktacular, presented by Downtown Alive during the day on Oct. 29. The event takes up the heart of Main Street and there are costume and pumpkin carving contests, games, treats, a magic show and other events. The fun begins at 11 a.m.
And for a scary time, go to the School of Screams at the old Spring Glen schoolhouse in Spring Glen. Starting on Oct. 27 the haunted school will start its stuff at 8 p.m. The show will go on each night through Halloween night, except Sunday Oct. 30.
