Price maintenance worker Johnny Winder vacuums up the last little bits of remodeling debris Friday afternoon. By Monday the counter tops and junk were off the new carpet.
Price City is going to sponsor a Citizen Appreciation Day Wednesday in conjunction with the grand reopening of the remodeled city library.
From 8 to 11 a.m., visitors will be able to tour the library to see the improvements. The city will offer free hotdogs, soft drinks and cookies in the Peace Garden from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. The day will be capped off with free swimming and free tubes at the Desert Wave Pool from 4 to 8 p.m.
Librarian Norma Procarione, amid the end-of-construction mess Friday, pointed out a few of the improvements patrons will see. First of all, they'll be able to see better because there is more natural light streaming in through the south windows. New windows, absent the gray filters of the old ones, make the whole place brighter during the daylight hours.
There are new carpets on the floor, along with an upgraded circulation desk. Invisible to patrons are improvements to the wiring.
The remodeling has taken about three weeks.
