In a game mainly comprised of field positioning, North Sanpete was able to make enough plays while capitalizing on Carbon High miscues to send the Dinos to their second straight defeat, 17-0.
The first half of play saw both teams struggle to create and sustain drives on offense. North Sanpete struck first just before halftime as they scored a touchdown on a 6-yard run by Brady Walker to go up 7-0.
Mirroring the first half of play, Carbon's offense was unable to create drives down the field. Many of Carbon's possessions saw them starting deep in their own territory.
The Hawks were able to add 10 points in the second half to build their lead to 17-0.
After averaging 25.5 points per game through their first five games on the season, the Dinos offense for the second week in a row never seemed to get on track against the Hawks defense. Quarterback Dakota Cisneros finished 8-of-33 passing for 77 yards with three interceptions. Wide receiver Nick Haycock led all Dinos receivers with 26 yards on four catches.
The Dinos rushed for zero yards on 16 carries, gaining just six first downs and 77 total yards of offense on the night.
With the loss Carbon is now 4-2 (0-2 in Region 12 play) on the season. The team will continue their season next Friday as they will take on Payson High School in Payson at 7 p.m.
