The driver of the car that struck and killed a pedestrian on Ridge Road Aug. 4 has faced the charge of automobile homicide in Seventh District Court.
The complaint filed by the county attorney's office alleges that Jamie Lynn Mercurio, 31, was under the influence of drugs or alcohol when her car left the road and hit 31-year-old Aaron Simms.
According to the Utah Highway Patrol's initial report, Simms had been pulling weeds about 10 feet off the road when he was struck.
There has been no date set for preliminary hearing. A hearing at the Price Courthouse has been set for Oct. 3 to determine the date.
Judge Douglas B. Thomas set bail at $10,000 at Mercurio's initial appearance Monday. She was still in Carbon County Jail as of Wednesday afternoon.
