Rita Ring

Loreeta June Tibbets Pennington Ring, age 72, passed away on May 17, 2011 in Price.

She was born Nov. 12, 1938 in Cortez, Colo., to Henry George Tibbets and Lorene Geneva Roe Tibbets.

She was the oldest of five siblings, Henry Joe, Myra Ann, Marilyn Marie, and Susan Lynette Tibbets.

Rita married Roy Meyer Pennington and they had four children, Jess, Kelly, Marianne and Valerie. He passed away on April 14, 1973.

She later married Gene Ring and they were married for seventeen years. To this marriage they had four children, Sharon, Gene, George and Ray Ring.

Rita loved the outdoors and wildlife. She enjoyed crochet work, gardening, fishing, breeding and raising cockatiels, and spending time with her grandchildren. In 1963, she lost her right leg leaving her handicapped. She never let this set back interfere with her success in raising two families and working to raise her children after two divorces.

She was a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. Rita had the good fortune to find and rekindle the friendship and companionship of Clyde Lay of Dove Creek, Colo. Loreeta had no regrets except for not being able to raise the children she had lost due to death. She eagerly awaits to regain the privilege when she's in heaven to hold them once again.
