Carol Anne McFall Nielsen
SANDY - Our precious wife, mother, grandmother, aunt and friend to many, Carol Anne McFall Nielsen, left her earthly home Thursday, May 5, 2011. Her final days were spent surrounded by her loving family and friends.
She was born March 9,1935 to Ellen Peterson McFall and James L. McFall in Spring Glen, where her adventures began. She attended Carbon High and sang in the Jimmy Dart Band. She married the love of her life, Lynn James Nielsen on June 8, 1957 and they were sealed in the Salt Lake LDS Temple Aug. 22, 1958.
Carol was a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, serving in many callings and currently serving at the Conference Center. The two highlights of her life were being a member of the Mormon Tabernacle Choir and her grandchildren. She sang in the choir for 20 years and enjoyed traveling the world with them, making many life-long friendships. She was a grandma that never missed an event or a chance to be a listening ear, leaving an imprint on their hearts. Her husband, children and grandchildren were the center of her life to the very end and she devoted every waking moment to the love and care of her family. She was the glue that held them together.
Carol had a lifelong love of music, dancing, enjoyed trips with family and friends, and time spent with friends. At her home everyone felt welcome. She will be remembered as being fun-loving and one who cherished her husband of 53 years and as a blessing and strength to her family. Those who had the privilege to know her will miss her always.
She is survived by her husband and children, Chris, Jackie (Scott) Pettis, Scott (Jodie), and Noel. She is also survived by sisters, Joanne and Gaylene, and her greatest joy, 10 grandchildren, that will miss her dearly. Preceded in death by her father, mother, brother, James, and sisters Betty Lou and Joyce Louise.
Funeral services will be held Tuesday, May 10, 2011, 11 a.m., at the Old Mission 6th Ward, (1433 Old Mission Road), Sandy. Friends and family may visit Monday, May 9 at Larkin Sunset Gardens, 1950 E. 10600 S. in Sandy from 6-8 p.m and at the church Tuesday morning from 9:30-10:45 a.m. Entombment, Larkin Sunset Gardens. She was courageous and optimistic during her 19-month struggle with cancer, showing everyone else love and concern. We'd like to thank her many caregivers, family and friends especially Dr. Whisenant, Jay Johnson, and Cliff and Judy Dunston for their loving care.
Our love for you is eternal...'til we meet again.
