The Lady Dinos teed off early and often against ALA on Tuesday afternoon.

Carbon left the Eagles in the dust as they racked up a 14-2 win in Region 10 action.

The Dinos set the tone in the top of the first by giving Carbon pitcher Kenzie Cave a four-run lead to work with.

Cave held the Eagles scoreless for three innings before ALA finally put one up on the board. By then the Dinos had already added five more of their own to make it 9-1.

Carbon put up a run in the fifth before exploding for another four in the top of the sixth. ALA finished off with a final score in the bottom of the frame.

Carbon relaxed a little with such a big lead and committed both their errors in that frame to allow the run.

The Lady Dinos ended the game with 14 runs on 12 hits and two errors.

Cave got the win and added a double on the offensive side. Alexis Oliver also produced a double in the win.

"I have to admit I was really worried about how we would do after spring break. Typically we have not done well no matter who we have played. But the girls came out and were great. Kenzie (Cave) only threw eight balls in the the entire game and only walked one. Darrian Smith was amazing at shortstop. The whole Carbon offense played great," said coach Tony Pinedo.

Carbon (3-2) is solidly in third behind Wasatch (4-1) with a chance to tie them for second when the two meet up at Wasatch.

The game will be played Thursday instead of Friday due to weather concerns.
