The Lady Dinos golf team spent last year chasing Park City.
This season they are finally leading the pack with a win at the Carbon Country Club last Wednesday afternoon. They edged out the Miners finishing with a 103 over Park City's 101.
A pleased Coach Kenji Otani summed thing up, "I am very proud of my girls. Carbon's Lady Dino Golf team did exactly what they set out to do, win their home match. With this win Carbon is now number one in Region 10 play. The Lady Dinos have been close, but this is the first time they have held the lead in region. The girls all played fantastic golf."
Carbon's 103 points was good enough to hold off Park City. Wasatch was third and Union placed fourth.
Lexi Gagon finished with 36 points, tying for medalist honors and maintaining her first place ranking in region.
Cassandra Hawkinson came on strong with 35 points. Shelby Wilson put Carbon on top with 32 points.
"The great thing is anyone on varsity is capable of making a lot of points, it is nice to have some depth. It's a good start to what I hope is a great season," Otani added.
