Carbon Dino bats keep pounding out wins

Right Fielder Julian Tamllos scoops up a hit and fires to home to throw out the runner at home and end the second inning. Good defense helped Dylan Vogrinec as he threw a complete game in the 7-1 win over Uintah on Friday afternoon. Carbon opens region action with a double header on the road against Wastach Friday.

Uintah's baseball team rolled into town hoping for a bit of revenge from last week's 10th inning loss.

But Carbon's offense would have nothing to do with that as they racked up their sixth straight victory with a 7-1 win.

Dylan Vogrinec took the mound for Carbon and struggled just a bit in the early innings.

Uintah was able to capitalize on it in the second inning by pushing a run over.

The Dinos were not able to answer with anything until they got one across in the third.

By the third Vogrinec was getting stronger and began getting ahead in the count.

His pitching continued to become sharper as the game went along and the Utes wished they had been able to do more in the early part of the game because they could not score anything else.

The Dinos were able to crack the pitching of the Utes as they added three in the fourth and the fifth to seal up another win.

Jullian Tamllos smacked a double and a triple. Seth Tryon cranked out a pair of doubles and Jaren McCourt also had a two bagger in the win.

Coach Troy Moynier continues to be happy with the offense of his team. But he stresses the three errors the team committed were too many and he stressed that will be a focus in this weeks practices.

But a bright spot is the effort he has been getting from his pitching rotation.

With Vogrinec having a complete game right after Bigelow's complete game no-hitter, the Dino arms will be fresh for the double header against Wasatch this Friday.

That game will be over in Heber with first pitch at 2:30 p.m.
