Carbon's Drill Team finished in third place at region and will now move onto the state competition this Saturday held at Utah Valley University in Provo starting at 9 a.m.
The girls began training and learning their routines in early summer of 2010 and have continued daily practices with performances throughout football and basketball seasons.
The girls had their first competition of the season in December at UVU, bringing home two trophies after competing against some very tough competition.
The next competition was on Jan. 8 at Alta High School and the girls brought home five more trophies. On Jan. 15 they competed at Murray High School were they achieved "superior" scores in each of their competition dances.
Region 10 competition was held at Carbon High School as the girls placed third behind Wasatch and Union.
We encourage everyone to come out and watch these dedicated athletes as they represent Carbon High School and our entire community. A gymnasium full of enthusiastic (LOUD) Carbon fans will go a long ways in helping them to do their best.
