Lady Dinos Head Coach Cami Carlson and her girls knew that the American Leadership Academy game was not going to be much of a contest. So it became a challenge to keep the team motivated and focused, but that is what they did as they routed ALA 73-17 on Tuesday night.

It was all Carbon from start to finish as the Lady Dinos limited ALA to eight points in the first half and nine in the second half of play. The Dinos worked on their man to man defense in this game. It is a defense they rarely use, but want to have in their arsenal inc ase it is needed. Carlson substituted liberally through out the contest.

"We knew going in this would not be much of a game so we used it to work on our man defense so we could have it in out arsenal if needed. We also decided to focus on our discipline on defense. At times we commit fouls because we are reaching and slide out of position. I think they were much better tonight in that area," said Coach Carlson after the game.

Tia Pappas put up a double-double with 20 points and 11 steals. Sara Potts lead all rebounders with 10. Miranda Averett added 11 points.

Potts admitted before the game that it might be an easy game to overlook, but they had to stay focused. After the game she said, "We played well and didnst let down. We got to work on our man defense and that helped us stay focused."

Carbon takes on Park City at home this Friday night with game time at 5:15 p.m. Delta lost to Emery Tuesday night and now Carbon takes the top spot with a record of 15-1.
