After riding a two game winning streak, the Pinnacle Canyon Academy Panthers ran into the number three ranked Monticello Buckaroos. In front of a good home crowd PCA lost 82-49.

For the first five minutes of the game, the Panthers were matching Monticello point for point and actually leading by a point or two. Then the Buckaroos called a time out and after a dressing down by their coach, came out and began to run away with the game.

But despite being outplayed by a team that was taller in every single position, PCA played their hearts out the entire game. With each hard earned part, the crowd roared with encouragement and the team played hard until the last buzzer sounded.

Coach Devin Shakespear admitted before the game that it would be a tough one for his squad. After the game he was happy about some of the good things he saw. "We started well and it gave out boys confidence that they can play with teams like this. We learned and I hope we can apply it to the next few games."

The Panthers have home game on Friday and Saturday against Navajo Mountain and Monument Valley. Varsity will play at 7 p.m. right after the Lady Panthers.
