A few weeks ago salt Lake Community College came to Price and stole a conference win from the Eagles. This last Friday night, EU returned the favor with a 90-89 victory over the Bruins. The Eagles then headed to Ephraim and downed the Badgers 75-63 to move into second place in league play, one game behind College of southern Idaho.

Friday night saw EU jump out to a first period lead. Up six at the break, they held onto that margin until a late surge by the Bruins with six minutes remaining tightened it up. James Kinney hit 31 points to lead the Eagles to a critical conference win. Bryant Crowder came off the bench to contribute 16 points and pull in nine rebounds. Trevor Bamgartner added 14, Maxim Zakhorov put up 12 and Cameron Evans finished with 11 as EU edged out sLCC for the win.

Again on saturday the Eagles used a good first half of play to set the tone for the game. They were up by 10 at half time. Again late in the second half their opponent made a surge, but this time the Bruins were in a big enough hole that they were not able to make a real dent in the lead. EU cruised to a 12 point victory over snow.

Kinney again led the offensive charge with 16. Brady Hurst stepped up and scored 15 points and 11 rebounds for a double-double. Bamgartner added 12 and Crowder scored 11 to round out the top scorer for EU.

Coach Brad Barton was pleased, "These wins were huge. It put us back contending for the conference championship rather than third or fourth place. But because of our three losses, every game we have left is critical. The win in salt lake was redemption. Our kids needed a little redemption and we had some great performances out of them over the weekend."

Two very tough home games await the Eagles. sWAC leader CsI will take on EU Friday night at 7:30 p.m. in the B-DAC. On saturday afternoon it will be NIC looking to take on the Eagles with a 5 p.m. tipoff time.
