Wasatch was the final team to beat as the Lady Dinos finished up the first half of region play. Carbon made it look easy as they easily downed the Wasps 55-24 in front of a large hometown crowd on Tuesday night. Carbon has a seven game winning streak in a 13-1 season, losing only to top ranked Delta in an overtime game. They are 4-0 in region 10 action.

Wasatch scored first on Tuesday night and it would be the last time they would even make a serious threat in the game. Carbon was able to play their regular two defense and fully contained any offense that Wasatch tried to throw at them all night. Carbon limited them to nine points from the field the entire game. Wasatch hit eight free throws to help pad the little scoring they were able to do.

Carbon was fairly effective from the field as Tia Pappas scored 15 and Miranda Averett added 14. Ten Carbon players were able to put points on the board during the contest in contrast to only four players from Wasatch who were able to score. Sara Potts was able to pull in 10 rebounds to go with her six points.

"We had a focus on defense tonight. We have set a new goal for the season and that is to not let any of our opponents score more that 40 points against us. We played our regular two defense and played hard and compact. We were moving well with the ball and passing effectively," said Coach Cami Carlson after the game. "I want to make sure we mention the effort of our bench, especially Miranda Averett, Regan Powell and Breanna Hurdsman. These girls work hard and get after it when they get in the game. I am lucky because we don't miss a step no matter who is on the floor and many coaches don't have that."

The Lady Dinos begin second round action taking on Union this Friday night at 5:15 p.m. at home. They also will host ALA on Tuesday night at 7 p.m. right after the Carbon boys play.
