It was a good weekend for the Pinnacle Panther boy's basketball team as they picked up a pair of region wins. On Friday night they ran all over Navajo Mountain and picked up a 67-30 victory. Then on Saturday they beat Monument Valley 61-43 to get another big win.

In the Friday contest the Panthers jumped out to an insurmountable 27-3 lead in the first quarter. They easily led the entire game, outscoring Navajo Mountain in every quarter of action.

Barry Hamilton was on fire, scoring 17 points to lead PCA to their first region win of the year. Jullinn Garcia added 14 and Jake Hardy scored 10.

The game with Monument Valley was a little closer. After building a good lead in the first quarter, the Panthers let Monument Valley back in the game in the second period and went to the locker room only up 32-26. But PCA came out firing and built the lead back up in the third and coaster home to the win in the fourth.

Four Panthers hit double figures for the Game. Hardy had the hot hand with 20 points including three from long range. MJ Taberna returned from injury and scored 12 as did Hamilton. Demetri Hullings put up 11 and dished out 15 assists for a double-double.

"It was nice to have MJ (Taberna) back," remarked coach Devin Shakespear. "We won both of our games Friday and Saturday. In the game vs Monument valley Demetri Hullings had a double double with 11 points and an amazing 15 Assists."

The team has a home game against region leading Monticello this Saturday night at 6 pm.
