The Carbon High Wrestling team hosted North Sevier on Thursday night. A shorthanded Dino squad went down to defeat 59-16 to the visiting team.

Right off the bat the Dinos were in a hole as they had to forfeit in five weight classes because of injury and illness. Several wrestlers took to the mat despite recent injuries and one even competed while trying to recover from non contagious mono.

Bryce Jackman (119 lbs) made quick work of his opponent with a first round pin. Cody Hunt (125 lbs) won with a decision. Wyatt Martinez (145 lbs) also won by decision for Carbon.

Coach John Watkins acknowledged how banged up his squad was and made the decision not to participate in the tournament they had been scheduled for so his team could have time to rest and recover for the region meet coming up.

The team is expected to travel to Wasatch to take part in the region meet. Their opponents will include Park City, Wasatch, Union and ALA.
