As the Lady Eagles finish up their first swing through region play, the team finds itself surprisingly in the thick of conference action. Friday night's 73-64 win over Colorado Northwestern Community College puts the Lady Eagles at 3-3 in the SWAC. Snow is also at 3-3 while North Idaho College, Salt Lake Community College and College Southern Idaho are all sitting at 4-2.

Early on in the contest both teams had small runs and small cold streaks. EU showed itself to be just a bit stronger and made the Spartans play catch up.

The second half was another battle as again EU would give themselves breathing room only to see CNCC crawl back close. The Eagles only hit 29 percent in the second half but still managed to out score the Spartans.

Bruna Deichmann and Priscila Santos continue to pull the lions share of the offense. Santos had 19 points and 10 rebounds for a double-double. Deichmann was top scorer with 22 points.

Coach Dave Paur was all smiles as his team left the court. "You see they are a tough little team," he said referring to CNCC. "But we played better than we have and got the win. We needed that win. We need every win right now."

The team will have a chance to make some ground as they face SLCC on Friday night in Salt Lake. They beat the Bruins earlier this year and know that SLCC will come out hard for revenge. They then head down to Snow to take on the Badgers on Saturday afternoon.
