Mark Lane Bedwell

Mark Lane Bedwell

VERNAL/PRICE - Beloved Father, Brother, and Grandpa, "Joe" Mark Lane Bedwell, 46, of Vernal, came into this world Feb. 19, 1964. Son of Lenor Jackson, he was the second of five children.

Joe worked on ranches when he was younger in Maybell, Colo., and Nine Mile Canyon. He was a coal miner, a roughneck, and always a cowboy. Joe loved everything to do with cows, horses and farming. He enjoyed going to the mountain, fishing, camping, and "moqui poking". He especially loved old country music and forever an avid football fan.

Joe Bedwell never knew a stranger, and he had friends and fans everywhere he made his presence. He was a fun loving man and there was never a dull moment if Joe was around, surrounded by humor, laughter and life. He never left a person out, and could make conversation with anybody. He was accepting of people-any type, kind or race. Generous and giving, he never turned down a favor asked of him.

He was taken from us on Jan. 20, 2011. He is survived by his two daughters-Josie (Roy) Twitchell of Price, Jessica (Shane) Bedwell of Vernal, brother Kenneth Bedwell of Vernal, and sisters Kelly (Joe) Conrad, Kerry (Spencer) Arias, and Kristy (Marty) Miller, four nieces, six nephews, and one grand daughter. He also had many friends that he considered family. The world has lost a one-of-a-kind man and he will surely be missed by all who knew him.

He was preceded in death by his mother Lenor Jackson Himes, and father Archie Himes.

Funeral services will be held Wednesday, Jan. 26, 2011 at 11 a.m. at the Vernal Blackburn Mortuary. Friends and family may call Tuesday evening from 6-8 p.m. at the mortuary and 1 hour prior to services on Wednesday. Services are under the direction of the Vernal Blackburn Mortuary.
