The Carbon High Diving team has competed in three meets already this season. The team has two boys and three girls so far this season.

All the divers are fairly new to diving and only three are at a level that Coach Stew Foster thinks are ready for competition. Those three have six solid dives and are competing at that level. They are attending a clinic this week and Coach Foster is hoping they will be able to compete at the 11 dive level after that.

The team traveled to South Summit and Callen Trujillo placed 3rd and Caden Sherman 7th in the boy's six dive event. For the girl's Trevyn Hepworth also took third in six dive event. At Park City Trujillo again took 3rd and Sherman finished 7th.

"We are working a lot on technique and are getting better each day," commented Coach Foster about his team.

He went on to say that there is still time for other kids to come out and try their hand at diving and that anyone interested in joining should contact him.

The team went to BYU on Friday for a diving clinic and then hosted a seven team meet at home on Saturday.

Carbon only had Trujillo and Sherman compete, but they used what they learned at the clinic and expanded to the eleven dive competition for the first time. Both were able to complete all eleven with no failed dives. That was an important step towards qualifying for state competition. Sherman finished in fourth and Trujillo took fifth.

The divers will head to Kamas on Nov. 18 and then take a break until December when they will compete again at Park City.
