A suggestion that a woodshop be added to the new Carbon Senior Center has been tabled by the County Commission.
However, there's a possibility that a leather shop could be added.
During a discussion at last Wednesday's meeting, Commissioner Mike Milovich noted that a woodshop with power woodworking equipment could pose a risk for seniors and a liability for the county. Also, there is no provision for the shop in the original request that was approved by the Permanent Community Impact Board.
Leatherworking, on the other hand, might be feasible in the ceramics shop.
