The Bill's Home Furnishing team of Bill Knott, Troy Ostler, Boyce Coombs and Rob Bertola were the first place winners of the tournament with a 58.
Once again the Fire in the Hole golf tournament, hosted and sponsored by the Sun Advocate, to raise money for the volunteer fire departments in Carbon County was a huge success.
This year about 130 people participated playing golf all morning and into the afternoon on Saturday, Oct.9.
The winners of the tournament were (1st) Bill's Home Furnishings (58), (2) the Walmart team (59) and (3) the Tony Basso GM team (60).
There was also a prize for better than worst (the next to last place team) which was won by the Castleview Hospital contingent.
The big drawing of the day was for a Marlin rifle donated by Bill's Home Furnishing and the winner of that was Tom Robertson.
Closet to the hole was Eddie Sandoval and the longest putt prize was won by Carson Franklin.
Unfortunately, no one hit a hole-in-one on the 17th hole or they could have won a new Malibu from Basso GM.
While not all the money committed for the tournament has come in yet it appears after expenses the Sun Advocate will be presenting a check to the fire departments in the county for a little over $4,000 in the next couple of weeks.
Look for the announcement and photo in an upcoming issue of the Sun Advocate.
