Must be enforced

In neither 1787 (the Constitutional Convention) nor 1868 (14th amendment) did U.S. have immigration laws. A post Civil War amendment was passed to provide former slaves citizenship. In 1965 this 14th amendment was "interpreted" to bequeath citizenship to babies born to illegal aliens as anchors against parents being deported and as sponsors for child's parents, grandparents, siblings, sibling/spouses into U.S. citizenship. These new citizens can then sponsor more relatives in unending chain migration destroying both U.S and leaving country.

The 13-20 million illegal aliens in US cost federal taxpayers $113 Billion yearly for health care, education, incarceration. Utah pays another $453 Million for our 150,000-200,000 illegals; $660 per citizen household. The average American worker earns $1,700 less annually (Harvard economist George Borjas) thereby paying less tax while infrastructure demands increase. More billions in funeral and other victimization costs are borne by private citizens.

The present bill by Representative Stephen Sandstrom reflects unenforced federal immigration law. This bill must pass and be enforced to save Utah finances and prevent more murders like Jesse Martinez, Joseph Cruddy, Daniel Johnson, Verlee Hunt, Officer Josie Fox, Lesly Morales, deacon Aniceto Armendariz, etc.
