Dino volleyball team falls to Wasatch after Union win

Kayleigh Potts flys high for a kill against Union last week. This Tuesday against Wasatch, the lady Dinos struggled to get their offense going and came up on the losing side for the first time in region action this season.

Coach Bob Potts reminded his girls right after the win Thursday night over Union that they had their toughest game so far this season coming up next. He was very right and Carbon came up on the short end as Wasatch beat the Dinos in four sets 25-19, 11-25, 25-21 and 26-24.

"We had our worst start ever in the first set." he said after the meet, "It was really hard to watch and I ended up substituting early. Then we just crushed them in the second match and I thought we were back on track. But it was a dog fight after that and it became about who wanted it more and we fell short. We are still in first place and nothing's broken so we have a week to prepare for the second half of region play and we will be ready."

Carbon had a shot at a win in both set three and set four. In set four they were up 23-21 with the ball when Wasatch used their final time out. The Lady Dinos were only able to get one more point after that.

Amanda Freestone ended the match with 11 kills. Sara Potts added nine as well as three service aces. Alexis Oliver dished up 27 assists and Kacylia Ivory had 31 digs.
