CLEAR CREEK - Machelle passed away suddenly at University Hospital after suffering a brain hemorrhage.
Machelle was born and raised in San Diego where she graduated from Bonita Vista High School and studied nursing. She was a telephone triage nurse for Children's Hospital in San Diego, before moving to Clear Creek recently. She was studying for her Bachelor's of Science in law and was working to become a Family Law paralegal. She was also a valued employee for the town of Scofield where she worked as the Clerk.
She was known to so many as, "the girl in the little yellow car," which was as bright and sunny as was. She loved people, and children especially, and was always ready to give a hug or help others. Even in death she gave of herself by donating her corneas and other tissues to help those in need.
She had recently joined the LDS church and loved her weekly Bible study lessons with church friends.
She left this earth surrounded by her family who will miss her terribly. They are consoled only in that she leaves behind a beautiful legacy of love and light which touched so many.
She will be missed by her family: father David Lando Dempsey, son Nicholas Lamm, aunt Maddi Pedersen, step-mother Tes Dempsey, sisters and brother Bonnie Dempsey, Kathleen Hartin, Steve and Virginia Legros, as well as cousins, nieces, & friends too numerous to mention.
She was preceded in death by her mother, Donna Jean Dempsey, son Alex Vallejo, and grandmothers Jean Vosburgh & Laura Mae Dempsey.
Services will be held on Saturday, Sept. 18, 2010 at 1 p.m. at the LDS Church in Scofield under the trusted care of Heritage Funeral Home. She will be interned at Glen Abbey Cemetery in Bonita, Calif.
