The Carbon girl's tennis team has begun their season with a pair of matches. The team has some tough competition and seen some success and some losses.

Judge Memorial came to Price and took the first match. Emery was up next and the Carbon singles teams came out on top, but Emery grabbed the doubles matches.

"They played hard both days," said Coach Tom Alleman. "Judge Memorial's varsity was tough. The girls played hard but we lost. At Emery, all of them played, what I think was their best tennis so far. Our doubles teams lost but they fought hard. They are all coming along."

Jaylee Nielsen, Nikki Williams, and Taran White won their singles matches against the Spartans. The Carbon doubles team of Danielle Oman and Alex Richens played for over an hour and a half before finally losing.

Next week on Tuesday Carbon will take on Juan Diego on the road. Grantsville will come to Price on Wednesday. Finally the team will travel to St. George on Friday for the Duel in the Desert Tournament.
