Breanna Hurdsman serves up one of her four aces on the night as the Dinos swept the Spartans at home on Tuesday.
For the second straight match in a row the Carbon High Lady Dinos swept their opponent in three straight sets.
The latest victim was Emery as Carbon quickly put the match away, 25-16, 25-13 and 25-22 on Tuesday night at home.
In set one the Dinos and the Spartans stayed fairly even until late in the set. Carbon began to get their rhythm and ran away with it in the end. Set two was all Carbon as Emery struggled to find their offense against the sold Dino defense.
In the final match the Spartans came out with fire and put the Dinos on their heels for a short time. But Carbon settled down, tied it at eight and then never looked back. Emery fought hard through the set and did not let the Dinos off the hook, but in the end Carbon finished the set and the sweep to go 2-2 on the season.
"It was fun," said Lady Dino Rachel Scoggins after the match. "We pulled together as a team, finished strong and got the job done."
Scoggins did her part with nine kills on the night. Sara Potts was also dominant at the net with eight kills. Amanda Freestone and Kayleigh Potts each added five kills. Alexis Oliver dished out 19 assists and Kacylia Ivory had 13 digs. Breanna Hurdsman led the Dino offense with four service aces. She had three straight in game one to set the tone for the night.
Coach Bob Potts was very pleased with his team's performance.
"They have chemistry and heart out there. We worked hard and we are not letting any team feel they can beat us," he said.
The other Carbon squads also saw success against the Spartans. The freshman won 3-0: 25-20, 25-16 and 15-12. The sophomores went 3-2: 25-17, 23-25, 16-14, 13-15 and 15-11. The junior varsity finished 3-1: 18-25, 27-26, 15-6 and15-13
