Price police have arrested two suspects in less than two weeks for stabbings.

The most recent incident happened at about 4 a.m. July 21 at a home in southwest Price. According to Price City Police Captain Kevin Drolc, Thomas Nathan Howerton, 28, and a friend told police that they showed up at the house of Rodney Allen Henrie, 37, and knocked on the door. They said that when Howerton knocked on the door, Henrie answered it with a knife in hand and stabbed him downward through the top of the shoulder.

The stab apparently reached the top of Howerton's lung, the captain said. Howerton's friend drove him to the Castleview Hospital emergency room.

Henrie fled the scene, but was arrested later in the day and booked into Carbon County Jail on a charge of aggravated assault.

The earlier stabbing occurred at 2:45 p.m. on July 11 in front of the car wash at Market Express on Carbonville Road. Captain Drolc said that a fight had broken out between Ronnie Lee Gutierrez, 26, of Helper, and two other Helper residents, Janessa Maria Lopez, 23, and Erik Scott Sharp, 30.

According to the police report, during the argument Sharp allegedly waved a knife and then punched Gutierrez. Lopez then apparently pulled a knife of her own and stabbed Gutierrez in the abdomen. Gutierrez was rushed by Carbon County Ambulance to Castleview Hospital.

Lopez was arrested and booked into jail on a charge of aggravated assault. Sharp was cited for brandishing a weapon and released at the scene, the captain said.
