The first annual Relay for Life Banquet was held on Saturday, June 19 at the Carbon Count Fairgrounds Convention Center.

One of the themes of the banquet was "Blowing out the Candles." The ten candles had different words of meaning behind them including believe, love, support, hope, survivor, relay, courage, life, spirit and cure.

The event brought out over 100 people with a ticket for each person costing $25 and $200 for a table.

Among those participating at the event included a musical performance by Frankie and Ollie, the Boy Scouts of America who were celebrating their 100th birthday and representatives from the Real Salt Lake soccer team.

Barbara Piccolo, chairwoman for the Relay for Life 2010 Banquet, said the first annual event was successful with the amount of people who came out in support.
