Homer Keith Snyder
PRICE - A good friend, Homer Keith Snyder, died on June 1, 2010 at the age of 84.
He was born on May 23, 1926 to Homer Snyder and Dolly May Goodart in the town of Latuda. Homer married Katherine (Kate) Kosmack and they had three children: Keith (Elaine) Snyder, George (Terri) Snyder and Kathy (Santo) Lupo. After his wife Katherine's death, he met and married Norma Tallerico Netz.
He had four step children: Silvanna Netz (Lyle) Bauer, Rocky (Sherri) Netz, Rusty Netz and Randy Netz. He had three grandchildren, 10 step grandchildren and 18 great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents. His granddaughter Jody Kay Snyder passed away on Oct. 10, 1994.
Homer was a very talented woodworker and furniture maker and enjoyed making things for his wife and family. He worked in various coal mines in Carbon County, for Cate Carbon Company, and for the cities of Price and Helper. He loved words and the dictionary and word games. He enjoyed spending time looking for arrowheads. You can still find his foot prints all over lower Gordon Creek.
He was a quiet, interesting and a compassionate man. Despite suffering much physical pain, he seldom complained.
Homer was such a good dad and step dad and always had time for all of us. He loved being a grandpa and the grandkids called him "Grumpy" for fun.
He will be dearly missed by all of us.
As was his wish, there will be no funeral. He will be cremated. "It is my wish to be buried by my deceased Kate."
