Wellington 'light show' on U.S. 6

It happens every few seconds on U.S. 6 heading into Wellington - lights on the radar speed detector begin to flash, then brake lights flash as motorists slow down to 40 mph. Apparently the sign works, so in July the Utah Department of Transportation will install permanent speed warning flashers at both ends of town, according to Mayor Ben Blackburn. Meanwhile, the mayor says he continues to try to persuade UDOT to erect a traffic signal in town. Traffic on the busy highway - the town's Main Street - has gotten to the point where police cars with flashing beacons must sometimes escort Little Leaguers across the street to get to and from the baseball field.
