A Price man needed to be extracted from his vehicle after a one car accident Monday morning.

Around 10:20 a.m., the man, approximately 44 years old, was seen driving a white 1994 Chevrolet S-10 pickup as he was turning left onto Main Street from Carbonville Road when witnesses say he stopped in the middle of the intersection.

He then reportedly rapidly accelerated driving through the grass of the park, nearly hitting some large boulders before he hit a concrete barrier under the overpass, turning his vehicle onto its side, according to Officer Jon Bowen with the Price City Police Department.

Price City firefighters had to extract the man from his vehicle before he was transported to Castleview Hospital. Respondents to the scene included Price City Police, Carbon County Sheriffs and Price City Fire.

It is unknown if the man suffered from a medical condition or if he was under the influence, according to Bowen.
