Movie being filmed in Helper

Scott J-R Productions has been in Carbon County, filming the movie, "The Wayshower" the last couple of weeks. This independent film, produced by New York Times number one bestseller author and Utah native John Roger and actor Jsu Garcia, began filming on Monday April 12. The production has been working largely with local Utah crew members. In the photo two young girls, BrinLee Hurdsman, from Castle Dale, and Emma Randall, from Grantsville, are being coached for a scene in the movie by producer Jsu Garcia. Sebastian Barr, front right, from Kamas, who plays the young J.R. Hinkins and actor Eric Roberts, listens intently to instructions. This movie, inspired by Dr. Roger's life growing up in a small Utah town, is being filmed in various locations around Utah. "The Wayshower" is co-producer/ co-writers' Roger and Garcia's second full length feature, and will follow the success of 'Spiritual Warriors', screened in 56 cities across 23 countries.
