Jan Guptill, owner of Mrs. Guppy's Fabrics in Price, was one of several people who showed off quilts at the recent Coal Country Quilt Show on March 19 and 20.

Guptill presented a beautifully handcrafted quilt, called "roses on blue", which was artfully handcrafted by her and quilted by Linda Carter of Price.

The quilt is made from a special bamboo batting that is new to this area. The batting is made from the stems and the leaves of a bamboo plant.

This process has no chemicals, is totally green, has natural anti-biotic properties, is hypoallergenic, is very durable, excellent breath-ability, keeps warmth in winter, stays cool in the summer and is softer than the traditional batting.

This exhibit, which is in its second year, was presented at the Carbon County Fairgrounds Event Center.

More than 40 quilts from Carbon County and an additional 70 quilts from Emery County were displayed. Raffles, door prizes, food, and classes were offered to the public during this two day event.
