He worked in the coal mines for nearly 50 years, mostly at Hiawatha. There he was a face boss and a shift boss for most of those years, although under different management. Prior to his mining experiences, was seriously injured in an accident while working on the building of the Flaming Gorge dam. His biggest joy in life was his grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

He is survived by his wife, Velora of nearly 54 years; five children, Ronald and (Rondolyn) Anderson, Nampa, Idaho, (Dennis) Cindy Marshall , Price, (Bill) and Nelda Callor, Sacramento, Calif., (Richard) and Dorothy Galberth, Salt Lake City, Rodney [Scott] and (Michelle) Anderson, Price; 28 grandchildren; and 31 great-grandchildren, with new arrivals coming soon; three sisters, Ramona Zmerzlikar, Martin; (Richard) and Marlene Peterson, New Mexico; and (Bill) and Sandra Nichols Price.

He is preceded in death by his parents; two brothers, Jerry and Harry Anderson; and two grandchildren, Shawn and Jennifer Anderson.
