Free van transportation - The Disabled American Veterans provides free van transportation to the George E. Wahlen VA Medical Center in Salt Lake City for veterans with medical appointments from Price and surrounding areas. Also, the program needs volunteer drivers to help us meet our transporting needs. Kindergarten Registration - Carbon School District has announced the dates and times of kindergarten registration for school year 2010-2011. Child must be 5 on or before September 1st in order to attend school, and a birth certificate and immunization requirements must be met for registration. Dates are as follows: Bruin Point on March 23 from 9 am to noon; Castle Heights on March 23 from 9 am to 11 am; Creekview on March 23 from 12:30 pm to 2:30 pm; Sally Mauro on March 29 from 9 am to 11 am; and Wellington on March 30 from 9 am to 11 am.
2nd Annual Coal Country Quilt Show - The San Rafael Piecemakers Quilt Guild is looking for entries for this event which will be held March 19 and 20 at the Events Center at the Carbon County Fairgrounds in Price. Carbon County Family Support and Children's Justice Center - offers crisis care for families with children from infants to 11 years old.
The crisis nursery is open 24 hours a day, seven days a week.
Residents may use the nursery for respite, doctor and mental health appointments, court appearances, medical emergencies, family crisis, support meetings, divorce classes and to escape domestic violence.
Parenting classes are scheduled Thursday at 1:30 p.m.
The center is also collecting donations for displaced families. Furniture items will be accepted only if the center has families in need.
