A heroic effort by Park City in the final seconds of play handed the Carbon Dinos a heartbreaking 51-49 loss on Tuesday night. It gives Carbon a 0-2 region record for this early season.

The Dinos jumped out to a 17-11 lead in the first. A slow second period let the Miners reduce the lead to two at the half. The Dinos fell behind in the third only to have a three point lead in the final minutes of play. But Park City was able to hit a three to tie it and then drive to the hole for a lay-up to take the win as the clock ran out.

Freethrows hurt the Dinos again. Park City hit 18-20 from the line. The Dinos shot 54 percent to only make 7 of 13. Keny Seals put up 15 points for the Dinos. Clint Finkbiner added 12 and Daniel Peczuh scored 11 to round out the top Dino offense.

Coach Ted Bianco had mixed feelings about the game.

"We played better last night," he said. "We put ourselves in a position to win and we played a full game. But they made the perfect pass and their player got by ours and it just wasn't our night to win. I feel bad for our boys because they are tired of playing well and losing. I am so glad we are home on Friday night; so is the team. We are looking forward to this game and hope we give the crowd something to cheer about."

The team takes on ALA at home this Friday night with game time at 7 p.m. right after the Lady Dinos take on ALA at 5:15 p.m.
