Shooting woes continue for the Lady Eagles of CEU as they lost two more road games to stay in fifth place in the SWAC.
On Jan. 14, the college of Southern Idaho had their way with the lady Eagles, beating them 65-54. The results on Saturday against Northern Idaho were even worse as they lost again, 75-55.
On Thursday, CEU opened up shooting well and the score was tied 10-10 at the 10 minute mark of the half.
But then they struggled to hit their shots and the lead from CSI blossomed. CEU made several runs in the second half as they tried to pull close, but in the end it was the 10 point deficit at the end of the first half that they never could overcome.
Kaylie Robinson scored 18 to lead the Lady Eagles. Bruna Deichmann finished with 14 in the losing cause.
On Saturday in Coer d'Alene, NIC took the lead early and never gave it up.
They outscored the Lady Eagles by 10 in each half and ran away with it in the end. Robinson was a one woman scoring machine with 23 points and 11 rebounds to give her another double-double game.
This weekend should offer a bit of relief for the team as they get to stay home and only have one game to play. They take on Colorado Northwestern on Saturday afternoon at the B-BDAAC with tip-off at 3 p.m.
They have already beaten CNCC on the road and are looking to post a win. CEU is 2-8 in conference play.
