The Lady Dinos ended the week still holding their record at 500. They dominated Duchesne on Saturday Jan. 9 by the score of 51-42. But the wins didn't keep coming when they opened up region play on the road against Wasatch on Tuesday. Carbon lost that game 42-36 to the Wasps.

On Saturday in Duchesne, the Lady Dinos made their mark early and had doubled up Duchesne 24-12 by the break. They increased the lead to 17 by the third and then cruised to a nine point lead to finish it off. Tia Pappas put up 19 points, seven steals and dished five assists to be named the Carbon player of the game.

Sara Potts added ten points of her own in the victory.

Over at Wasatch on Tuesday night, the Dinos played hard. But each quarter saw the lead growing by a point or two. They were only down by a bucket at the end of the first and four points at the half. In the third, the lead for the Wasps was at five and the final difference was six.

For Carbon the game was never out of reach, but they could never quite turn the corner to take the momentum to push them over the top. Pappas had another good game and was again the player of the game with 14 points and six rebounds.

The Lady Dinos travel to Park City on Tuesday for a region game that starts at 7 p.m. They will face-off with ALA for another region match-up on Friday with the 5:15 p.m. tip-off.
