With two more games and two more wins under their belts the Eagle basketball team is red hot. Last Tuesday the team took on Western Wyoming in a non-conference game and sent them packing with a 84-52 defeat. On Saturday they resumed SWAC action with a 101-80 road win over Colorado Northwestern.
The Tuesday match up was CEU from start to finish. They dominated the game finishing the first half with an eight point lead. They more than doubled up the scoring on them in the second half to take a 32 point win.
With five players in scoring in double figures, Michael Glover led the pack with 14. Vander Jorquim and Tony Dalton each put up 12. Isiah Williams scored 11 points and grabbed five steals. Nick Thompson put up 10 points and seven rebounds.
Heading to Rangely, Coach Chris Craig's biggest fear was whether the team could play hard knowing that CNCC was a struggling team. He did not need to worry as the Eagle bunch seemed to only know how to play one way and that is as hard as they could. In the first half they were up by as many as 30. Everyone on the team got to see some good court time as they cruised to a 21 point victory.
Williams hit 27 points for the night. Jorquim put up a double-double with 11 points and 10 rebounds. Glover also had another double-double with 18 points and 15 boards. Jonathan Mills finished with 14 points.
The team will play a couple of non-conference games in Richfield over the Christmas break before resuming action in January.
