Commercial document shredding takes hold in Carbon County, private sector

An employee from Shred-It dumps documents into a portable commercial shredder that is hauled on a truck. The shredding company was shredding paper on Oct. 14 in the Eastern Utah Community Credit Union parking lot. Recently Carbon County commissioners decided to have the county contract a commercial shredding company help with its paper and document disposal needs. While in the past the county has done its own shredding, according to Commissioner Mike Milovich, county machines are getting old and storing shredded documents has become difficult. According to the county the new system should be more efficient as it saves time, space and equipment costs at the courthouse.
