Coach Brent Martindale knew the odds of stealing a win this weekend were slim. The Golden Eagles took on the number one and number two ranked junior college teams in the nation. They both happen to be in the same conference as CEU. Against the top team, NIC, the Eagles were able to eek out a win in the four set loss. The scores were 25-15, 25-18, 25-28, and 25-20 in favor of NIC. Before the weekend was over CEU headed over and were swept by CSI 25-16, 25-13, 25-16. On Thursday night Alexis Adams and Barbara Jardim smashed 10 kills each. Julia Potts dished out 26 set assists. On Saturday Jardim had 12 kills to lead the Eagles.

CEU now sits at 1-3 in conference play. They are just percentage points below Snow, who is at 1-2. CEU defeated Snow in their first meeting. The next home match is this Saturday at 3 p.m. at the B-DAC when they take on 0-4 CNCC.
