Felicia Olmos challenges Wasatch player for possesion.
Team defense is proving to be a weak point, but Upwall believes they can pull through
A 6-0 loss to Wasatch was the start of a brutal week for the Lady Dino soccer team. Wasatch is one of the better 3A soccer teams in the state. So is Park City and the Dinos played them on Thursday, sandwiched in-between practice, practice and practice.
On Tuesday against Wasatch, Carbon played a good first half. There were still some lapses in team defense that allowed the Wasps to penetrate and score.
Three times the ball went into the net for Wasatch in the first half, and three times again in the second half.
Coach Jerad Upwall was still pleased with his team, "Still need to work on team defense, but they are coming around. We are going to quickly have to learn to play some aggressive soccer to keep up with these better teams. Goalie Lydia Jeppson had her best game yet. She had some tough breaks, but made some great stops for the score; it could have been worse. Wasatch is a really good team."
The Lady Dinos will be at home on Thursday (today) taking on the Park City Miners with game time starting at 3:30 p.m.
