Road improvements continue in area

A Utah Department of Transportation road project that is presently going on will result in improved roads throughout much of Price City.

The project includes the rotomill and asphalt overlay of parts of 100 North in Price, most of Main Street and portions of SR-10 (Carbon Ave).

Nielson Construction has begun the project with the construction of 50 pedestrian ramps that will be located throughout the project. Once the rotomill and asphalt overlay portion of the project begins the plans include the closing of approximately three-block sections of road at a time to all but business traffic.

The project is expected to be complete 45 days after construction begins and to facilitate the quick completion of the project and minimize the impact to residents, construction crews will at times work day and evening shifts.

Areas impacted by the improvement project include 100 North (near Holiday Inn) to 300 East. At 300 East the project will proceed to Main Street and continue to south Price, ending on SR-55 near the SR-6 onramp. On SR-10 the project will begin near Kilfoyle Krafts and continue to 100 North.

Completion of the project will require some road closures during heavy equipment and excavation portions of the job. Work will be underway during daylight and evening hours Monday-Friday. Traffic control personnel will be on hand to facilitate the flow of traffic and project signs will be in place to direct motorists through the project zone.

Nielson Construction project supervisors will strive to reduce the problems of dust and traffic congestion through the construction zone.

The management of the company realizes that road construction projects by their very nature prove to be inconvenient to those that utilize the road. Nielson Construction's Public Information Office is available to address the concerns and comments of the public throughout the construction project.

For project comments or inquiries, please call James Davis or Wayne McCandless at the Nielson Construction Public Information Office, 435-6872494, ext. 128.
