When it comes to wedding trends, it's all up to personal preferences of the bride and groom. Weddings can range from ultra-formal affairs to more casual laid back oceanside gatherings.
In a 2008 survey examining wedding trends, FresnoWeddings.net conducted third party surveys of brides and grooms to get a better grasp on which trends are growing in popularity as the first decade of the 21st century draws to a close. The following tidbits are some of the survey's findings.
â¢Fifty-one percent of respondents said they will plan a traditional wedding, while just 3 percent planned to have a theme wedding.
â¢When it comes to dressing the bridesmaids, the biggest trend is the wear-again dress.
â¢Online photo showcasing, which allows friends and family to view photos on the Internet, continues to grow in popularity.
â¢Fashions from the 1980's are making a comeback, as textured dresses, bright colors, big jewelry, and cover bands playing 1980's music are becoming popular once again.
â¢All-inclusive packages offered by resorts are helping to increase the popularity of destination weddings.
â¢Popular wedding gifts include high-end kitchen gear and practical cooking items as well.
â¢Consistently designed invitations, save-the-date cards, menus, and thank you notes are rising in popularity.
â¢More and more video services are offering cinematic videography as an alternative to more traditional video services.
